LAST DAY OF TRAINING;

yeah some of us went out for lunch!

we went to eat sushi and L4 of Kallang Leisure park!

it was 99cents per plate of sushi, and it was seriously not bad :D

yepppp, and the portions were much much larger that sakae's

so yay us!

SEC ONE INDUCTION TODAY WAS SUPER FUN! :D
thank you so tianyi, michelle and janine for putting in so much effort. You guys were really great organisers!

I shall blog about the games for those who didnt go (:

first was scavenger hunt!
we were supposed to hunt for the items in our list given, which most of us didnt.
so for the items we didnt have, we played around with puns to "create" the object. i am not sure what puns the other groups came out with, so i shall just say the funniest one my group came out with.
We were supposed to find an old edition head racket cover. So we just took a racket cover(not a head one) and covered mr yang's head. hahah (:
if mr yang reads this: we were just joking. You are forever yang to us! (:

next, was the photo game.
We were given a few photos and we had to locate where in kallang it was taken and take a picture of it too.
that game was fast (:

then, it was the pad game!:D
We had to use the sanitary pad given to us soak up water from a bucket and pass it among ou group members to the front to fill up our plastic cups. (5 cups in total)
That game was really crazy and fun!We were all going wild running up and down to get water. and many of us played cheat anyway. hahah (:

after that, the adjective game!
michelle, janine and tianyi would say "the biggest" or "the shapiest" then each group had to send a representative, then they would say the noun.
there were some really funny questions. Like the "hardest butt", the "reddest pimple" and many more! (:

Lastly, we had prize presentation, then cheers!
the presents were really nice! Like cute clips, cheezels, gummies, etc.
Cheers were fun too!

sec one orientation was really fun!
and i think we connected well with the sec ones through the games! yay! :D

this is my first time blogging so sorry if anything goes wrong

this feels exciting! hahah :D

so anyway, i shall blog milo since i have the pictures too!

so first, was the bus ride.

In the bus, we sang songs, cheers and like made lots of noise. (we kind of pissed the ucsc people off i think)

but the bus ride was fun!

We had a "see which pair is the coolest" competition. So together with our busmate, we wore lee's cool cap and cool sunglasses and took part in this competition! You can vote for the coolest pair! (:

After we arrived, the next few days were fun fun fun! :D

some random pictures

basically we just slacked in our hotels playing cards, gossiping, eating, camwhoring, telling ghost stories. The hotel was like one of the funnest parts!<3

For milo competion, most of us got out like after 2-3 rounds except for a few pro ones (:

The funner days if milo were tuesday and wednesday:D

on tuesday, we went to Bukit Jalil, the national courts which was very big, grand, clean! The four-sided glass courts were really cool but not very enjoyable to play in cos the ball heardly bounces >< anway, we squashed there the whole day which was really fun!

On wednesday, it was SHOPPING DAY! :D

we went to sunway pyramid which was BIG.

but the shops were actually pretty much like the singapore shopping centres and the stuff there weren't exactly very cheap or anthing.

except for the movie! one ticket was like 7RM which is about s$3.We were all going crazy! hahah(: so we watched drilbit taylor. It was okay. i think it was supposed to be funny, but some of us fell asleep half way.

Big highlight!

On one of the days (i think saturday), we got stuck in the lift!

All 15 of us and 3 other random people were stuck in the lift.

There were a total of 18 people in the lift when the maximum it could take was 17, so we probably overloaded it.

So when the lift was on the third level, and some random person in the lift wanted to get out, the lift door opened while it was still descending slowly.

After that person got out and the lift door closed, the lift stopped between level two and three.

Next, it started bobbing up and down. We tried pressing the alarm bell, but it was not working so we called mr yang and waited in the lift. We were like making a lot of noise, and panicking in the lift. I think this was extremely scary for becky cos she has height phobia and sulin cos she is claustrophobic. But they remained brave! :D

After 5 minutes or so, the lift just suddenly opened and we all dashed out frantically.

it was most of our first time getting stuck in the lift i think. but it was fun and scary at the same time (:

Another highlight was Nisha's birthday!

on sunday, 25th may we celebrated nisha's birthday in secret recipe!

becky's super kind and generous parents treated us to dinner and bought a birthday cake! thanks so much becky!

So we kept singing the birthday song over and over again and everyone kissed nisha over and over again. (including mi ru who doesnt really kiss others. She gave her first kiss to nisha!)

AND, nisha cried! hahah.

she was super touched! so yay!

So that was milo'08!<3

It was extremely funnnn!

okay, we have year end training camp to look forward too! YAY!

I'm sorry I let everyone down today by losing my match. Sorry for being the biggest disappointment.
But I'm really grateful for the team i have, for saying the just right things. And I'm really grateful for everyone that came to support, and everyone that cheered me up after my match. And everyone that asked me if I was alright, yeah I am cuz i have such great friends like you guys x)

so, our first match is on monday, and it is a supremely important match.
everyone please rest well!

to the oldies of the graduating batch: ahhh seems not so long ago where we were tiny things training in school on tuesdays until 6.30 and slacking away in tanglin on thursdays and waking up on unearthly hours on saturdays and running/jogging FINE I WAS WALKING around tanglin club and joking about disappearing to far east for 20 minutes until we are supposed to have 'finished' our run. our last nationals for rgs, as bdiv, so come on let's give it our all! :D we'll leave the courts with no regrets, go COWNED'08!

i want to thank coach serene for being the best coach i ever had, i want to thank the om team for displacing us from the school squash courts so we can hang around kallang and feed mosquitoes, i want to thank the kallang man for restringing my rackets, i want to thank my team mates for being the best team mates they know how to be, i want to thank my CCA for being the most dynamic ever, I LOVE YOU ALL!

An Athelete's Pride

I'm a high school player. I'm a team player.
I play with my friends and with some of my enemies, but I respect everyone when it comes to my sport.
I know I'm not going to get a multi-million dollar contract to play professionally.
I know I may not ever get my name in the paper.
I play for love of the game. For the pride and honour, for the blood, sweat and tears it takes to make the team, to earn the spot, to win the game.
I play because I can. I play because I know that my life would be empty without the sport I play.
I would have a lack of everything my sport gives me... integrity, courage, talent, fearlessness, pride, strength, stamina, will, and the heart of a champion.
If I didn't play, I would lose a part of me.
I'm an athlete. I'm a girl. I'm a champion, not because my team always wins, but because when we don't, we learn from our mistakes.
We try to fix them, and most of all because we have fun.
I have built lifelong friendships and memories because of my being an athlete.
I leave everything on the field or court and continue to push myself.

Hey everyone! I think i koped this off Zeslene's blog last year, but anyway, I think it's really meaningful. And for nats this year, this is how we're gonna play. Nat's is coming soon! And we're gonna give our best! Yes, nats is about winning, but it's not about getting first place. As long as we play well, run for every ball and fight to every last point, that's winning.

To B'div '08:
Suddenly it feels like Nats are really coming, and it just feels really surreal. It's coming too quickly and i can't believe we're gonna conclude our four years of squash, just like this. This feels like 2 years ago, when we played nats for the first time. It's different cuz we had a second chance the last time. And after all the ups and downs in this four years, i just don't want it to end so quickly. When I found out that fractured my ankle, i really thought I wasn't gonna make it for nats this year, and it felt horrible. In January, when i couldn't even walk without a limp, to the first time i could do track sprints again, I was really scared that I wouldn't be able to play, or that I'd let everyone down. And then there was the training, that I thought I surely couldn't keep up with, not after my fracture. But I did try my very best, and it felt like I didn't let my team down. There were so many times i doubted that we were gonna make it to nats this year as a complete team. But now after everything, it finally feels like i have my team back again. This means something to me, only because this is rgsquash, and this is our team. And though we had our quarrels and we had our bad times, I want you guys to know that I wouldn't have it any other way. 12 days to nats, Let's make our last nationals together count for something!

OH YES! we shall have an angel-mortal system within the rgsquash team! basically, we all draw lots tomorrow (wednesday) and EVERYONE will get to be an angel AND mortal at the same time! HOW COOL IS THAT! YEAHHH! oh and we will change angel & mortal every term so there's quick bonding within the team! keep your identity secret and try your best not to reveal it until the next term arrives! at the end of the term, angels and mortals will exchange gifts! & angels need not necessarily write letters if you're ridiculously busy, but just try to make that person's life happier (esp during trngs!). try to be as nice as possible without being too obvious (: it's cool cos sectwos, yall may be secfours angels! this is bridging the gap between snrs and jnrs, therefore bursting the bubble within the batches! we (janine and tianyi) will note down your angels but WE NEED ANGELS TOO, so our angels please be extra nice! :D even if you don't like us, but that's 100% not possible.

OH YEAH, WE NEVER EVER HAD A PROPER SECONE ORIENTATION (as far as we know) so we're gonna have one this year to welcome our batch 011 warmly into our muscular arms! more details will be discussed soon on this blog so stay tuned! we'll have it by february, cos there's no point of them orientating themselves then we orientate them again one year later!
